In Victorian and Edwardian times, wealthy European lovers would commission eye miniatures, later called "Lovers Eyes" to exchange as love tokens. It is said that these affairs would cause scandal and worse if these lovers were found out so the idea of just an eye would effectively conceal the identity of the person and then the love tokens could be worn publicly, safely. It is similar to the idea of a locket with a picture or painting of a loved one and I love the idea and I think it would be sweet to wear pieces with your child's eye, a spouse, or as a memorial to someone lost.
These are some I'm working on and will post photos when they're a finished piece.

It's been far too long since I've posted anything here. Many things in my life have changed and after having to start working outside of home, I wasn't able to make time to create jewelry. With encouragement from friends and family I've started to slowly pick up where I left off. This is a piece I recently made with some fabulous finds: an antique gold and diamond locket, an antique French metallic bullion tassel, and a vintage steel cut buckle. I hope to be able to develop an online presence here and I hope you'll follow along.
